Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Chicken, cut into pieces
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • In a large pot, combine the chicken and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove chicken from the broth and set aside. Shred or chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  • Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl until combined. Mix in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pour in the milk and combine until a sticky dough forms.
  • Drop the dough by heaping tablespoonfuls into the simmering broth. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes, without lifting the lid.
  • Add the parsley to the pot with the shredded chicken. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot.
