Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound Fresh Gulf shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Remoulade Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 Clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • A dash of hot sauce (optional, to taste)

For Assembly:

  • 4 Brioche buns or soft burger buns
  • 1 cup Shredded lettuce
  • 1 Large tomato, sliced
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp Coating:

  • In three separate bowls, set up a breading station: one for the all-purpose flour, one for the beaten eggs, and one for panko breadcrumbs mixed with Cajun seasoning.
  • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then dust them in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat them in the seasoned panko breadcrumbs. Press gently to make sure the breadcrumbs stick.

Fry the Shrimp:

  • In a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully fry the shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy. With a slotted spoon, transfer the fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined dish.

Make the Remoulade Sauce:

  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, and hot sauce (if desired). Mix well until smooth. Chill until ready to use.

Assemble the Burgers:

  • Toast the brioche buns until lightly golden. Spread a generous layer of remoulade sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
  • Layer with shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and crispy fried shrimp. Top with additional remoulade sauce if desired, and place the top bun over everything.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
